February on the Flower Farm

The Sun came out... Finally!

February has been a busy month here at the farm. We've been hard at work preparing the paths and beds in our Pick-Your-Own (PYO) areas. Barrowing mulch, woodchip, and compost through thick mud has been quite the challenge, but we know it will all be worth it in the end.

Our excitement is palpable as we see the first few daffodils and tulips emerging. It's a sure sign that spring is on its way! We've also been relieved to find that our liberal application of chilli flakes seems to be keeping the mice away from our tulip bulbs—touch wood! Would highly recommend if you find your treasured tulips always seem to be nibbled!

Our love affair continues with hellebores as they all seem to be flowering beautifully in pots under the cover of the barn. They will be the very first thing that gets planted out into the field next week and we are hoping they will continue to thrive in their new home.

Seed sowing has now begun in earnest, and we are thrilled to see the first signs of new growth. Adding to our excitement, we received our new banner this month, which looks fantastic and will be a great addition to the farm.

As we look ahead, we are eagerly preparing to welcome our first visitors at the end of March. It's all systems go here, and we can't wait to share the beauty of the farm with everyone.

Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see you soon!
